Dua To Pray Before Wearing Your New Thobe

Upon wearing your thobe for the first time, you should recite the below dua to show grattitude for the clothes we have been given and also for protection;

اَللّٰھُمَّ لَکَ الْحَمْدُ کَمَا کَسَوْتَنِیْهِ اَسْأَلُکَ خَیْرَہٗ وَخَیْرَ مَاصُنِعَ لَه وَأَعُوذُبِکَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَه 

Translation: O Allah, praise is to You. You have clothed me. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it has been made for, and I seek Your protection from the evil of it and the evil of what it has been made for.

We should thank Allah for everything he has given us and remember, without him we have nothing.

Benefits of Miswaak

We include a free siwak with every single thobe to encourage this Sunnah. We hope you will benefit from it and that it may it serve as a source of ongoing reward (sadaqah jariyah) for us. Just by using the siwak before prayer alone can increase your the reward you get for that prayer, please read below to learn more about its benefits and how beloved this sunnah was to the Prophet ﷺ 

"The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Had it not been for the fact that I did not want to make things difficult for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the siwak (miswaak) before every prayer."
(Sahih al-Bukhari 887, Sahih Muslim 252)"

He ﷺ also said:
"A prayer performed after using the miswaak is better than seventy prayers without using it." (Narrated by Ibn Majah, 289; authenticated by Al-Albani in Sahih Ibn Majah)

The Prophet ﷺ never abandoned miswaak. Aisha (رضي الله عنها) narrated:
"The Prophet ﷺ would use the siwak when he entered the house, before praying, and before going to bed."
 (Sahih al-Bukhari 244)

The last known sunnah that the Prophet ﷺ practiced before passing away was using the miswaak. We can see the immense benefits of using a siwak, despite it being such a simple practice. We pray that both you and we can make it a lifelong habit.
